Homemade Face Masks

Homemade face masks are a lot of fun.

By yourself, or with friends, they are a lovely way to relax and pamper your skin. Lovely fresh ingredients for lovely fresh skin!

The sweet potato mask is by far our most popular recipe, but the egg white mask is extremely simple and effective too.

Who would have thought potato recipes could be so fabulous?

The Sweet Potato Mango Mask

The best anti aging / acne home remedy.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 small sweet potato (cooked)
  • 1 mango
  • 5 tablespoons of Honey

    • WHAT TO DO

  • Scoop out the potato and mango flesh.
  • Mash together with the honey (or use a blender).
  • Apply and leave for 15 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water and you're done!

    Why Sweet Potato?

    Sweet potatoes are the best thing you can use for anti inflammatory purposes.

    It's fantastic - this sweet potato recipe got rid of my acne overnight. My husband who took acutane for years and developed an immunity to it (it didnt work anymore) used this mask and got rid of his acne as well.

    It really is fantastic, you'll love it!

    Home Remedies For Glowing Skin
    One of the most well-known home remedies for glowing skin is a mixture of milk powder and honey. They not only enhance the brightness of the skin, but also help moisturize it.

    Egg White Face Mask

    WHAT YOU NEED
  • Egg white separated from the egg yolk

    WHAT TO DO

  • Beat the egg white until frothy and thick. A good test is when the egg whites stand up in a peak by themselves when you pull the beater out of them (just like making meringues!).
  • Apply the mixture to your face with either your fingers or a cotton ball. You want to cover you face well but not too thickly or it will take way too long to dry!
  • Lie back and relax. This allows the egg white to dry without sliding off your face. You will start to feel your skin tightening as the egg white dries!
  • Rinse off with cool water, then use a warm cloth to remove the final remnants.

  • You can also add some witch hazel to stop it drying out so quickly if you like. Not essential but another option.
