Homemade Soap

The art of homemade soap has seen a revival in recent years as appreciation grows for artisan and hand made goods.

So the soap often also incorporates a natural skin care element so that the end result stands out from the mass-produced soap widely available today.

While you will pay more for it, than, for example, commercially available soaps at your local supermarket, it is a superior product.

Hand made soap also makes wonderful gifts.

NATURAL SOAP PLANT

Soapwort is herb that produces suds and lather when the root and stems are crushed.

It has been used by people as a natural soap and herbal shampoo for many years.

The juice from the leaves or the root can also be used to treat skin problems that tend to linger, such as eczema and acne.
Do a patch test before using as a treatment on your skin.

SOAP MAKING RECIPES

I am currently researching and experimenting with hand made soap making recipes to share with you.

IN THE MEANTIME...

I recommend you have a look at these great Natural Handmade Soaps and Crèmes from the Purple Camel Soap Company in New Zealand.

One of the great things about them is that they are not just about making soap, they are also about making a difference!

READY TO USE ALL NATURAL SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

A really easy way to give Dead Sea Mud a try is this all natural Dead Sea Mud soap.

This is also a great way to give a unique, natural gift.
Tie it up with a cotton flannel, and some brightly colored raffia for a striking, eco-friendly effect.

Special Note: I use Amazon online to purchase ready to go products so I can maintain my natural skin care regime at all times, e.g travelling, working long hours, unable to get to the store... It is a good alternative without compromising my ideals.
