Tangerine & Citrus Fruit Recipes

for Aging Skin

Tangerine are not only delicious but they also have some great benefits for your skin, as do many citrus fruit.

They contain a good amount of Vitamins C and Vitamin A, the essential oil improves circulation and blood flow, which allows natural regeneration of skin cells and even the collagen.

As an added benefit when the essential oil is used in massage oil it helps to break down cellulite deposits and create a smoother overall look to the skin.

Skin Rejuvenation

Vitamins C and A are common ingredients amongst anti aging recipes.

Why? Because they help to regenerate skin growth and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Honey absorbs impurities from the skin, along with leaving behind vitamins and nutrients essential for that nice healthy glow.

  • Juice of ½ of a Tangerine (or 15 drops of essential oil)
  • ½ teaspoon of Honey
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Mix all ingredients together and apply to the face using clean hands or a cotton ball, leave on for 15-20 minutes and rinse.

If using essential oil add 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil to the recipe.

Citrus Fruit Mask for Dry Skin

Citrus fruits smell great and wake up the senses, but they can also help to hydrate skin and leave it soft and refreshed.

    No dull skin here!

  • 1 Tangerine
  • ½ Lime
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • Squeeze the juice from the fruit into a bowl, beat the egg yolk and add to the mixture.

Apply with a cotton ball or your clean hands, leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with cool water.

    Hydrating Cream for Skin

I actually got this tangerine recipe from Sunkist.com.
It’s an awesome natural recipe for a highly moisturizing cream that will help to reduce wrinkles and promote healthy skin.

Buttermilk/cream/whole milk is great for the skin because it contains lactic acid. Lactic acid acts as an exfoliant, removing dead skin cells. It's highly hydrating, and helps to reverse sun damaged skin.

  • ½ cup of cream (or whole/buttermilk)
  • 1 Teaspoon freshly squeezed juice
  • 1 Strainer
  • Pour the cream into a small mixing bowl and add the freshly squeezed juice.

Wait for the mixture to curdle and lump (about 3 minutes), strain the liquid away and apply the creamy remnants to your skin.

You will be amazed by the results!
